After studies in psychology, Alain Vaugier completed a BFA (1985) and an MFA (1990) at the Université du Québec à Montréal. The recipient of numerous bursaries and a member of Atelier Sculpt since 1984, he creates multidisciplinary installations that combine drawing, painting, photography, slide projections, electronic music and sculpture (neon, earth, metal, etc.). Both spontaneous and technological, his work is often inspired by biology, geology, astronomy and philosophy.
