Yvon Proulx studied visual arts at the Université du Québec à Montrèal. He salvages everyday objects and fragments of materials (bits of wood, pipe joints, etc.) that he arranges according to various themes, depending upon their shape and material, and occasionally frames to make “precious objects.” He has also created sets for the theatre. In 1986, he created a monumental sculpture for Place de Ville in Sherbrooke; in 2009, his two aerial sculptures, Dessins suspendus, were installed permanently at Laval’s Cartier subway station.
