Christiane Patenaude holds a BFA (1990) and an MFA in visual arts (1994) from the Université du Québec à Montréal. She has also completed professional workshops in video, sound recording and electronics, and currently teaches fine arts at Cégep Montmorency in Laval. As well as participating in solo and group exhibitions and producing works of integration into architecture, she has presented numerous sound performances. In her sculptural work, she creates matching organic, sensual forms with vaguely botanical and mineral qualities; assembled in an uncluttered setting, these at times diaphanous pieces are composed of diverse materials and textures.
