After studying art in his native Czech Republic in the sixties, Miroslav Frederik Maler completed a BFA at the Université du Québec à Montréal (1975) and an MFA in sculpture at Columbia University in New York (1977). In addition to exhibiting his stone works in numerous solo and group shows, he has taken part in many sculpture symposiums in Japan, Ireland, the Czech Republic and Quebec, including Chicoutimi’s International Environmental Sculpture Symposium (1980) and the Symposium de Lachine (1988).
