Lise-Hélène Larin has a BFA in graphic design from Concordia University (1976), an MFA in visual arts (1988) and a PhD in the study and practice of art (2011) from the Université du Québec à Montréal. She has received several grants and prestigious awards, including a silver medal at the 1980 New York International Film Festival. In addition to teaching at various colleges and universities, she is a multidisciplinary artist who works in sculpture, installation, video, performance art, computer graphics and 3D animation. Her works characteristically defy the boundaries between genres and modes of expression; they bring to life what was once inert through fanciful “landscapes” that complicate the task of interpretation
