LAGUEUX, Jacinthe (1959)

Jacinthe Lagueux holds a fine arts diploma (1979) and a general BA in visual arts (1983) from Université Laval. It was upon meeting Pierre Osterrath (SEE ENTRY) that she made her foray into fusing techniques and thermoformed glass. She combines this light, fragile material with aluminum, stainless steel, and at times copper mesh and foil, creating schematized, semi-translucent bustiers and bodices. Lagueux has participated in about thirty exhibitions in Quebec and abroad, including in the United Arab Emirates. She has also completed public artworks, notably at the Bibliothèque de Québec and the Parc de la Vallée de Jacques-Cartier [Cadran solaire (“sundial”)].
