JUNEAU, Denis (1925)

Denis Juneau studied at the Monument-National and the École des beaux-arts de Montréal before attending the Scuola di Disegno di Novara in Italy from 1954 to 1956. Among his many awards are the Gershon Iskowitz Prize (1986) and the Prix Paul-Émile Borduas (2008). He is known primarily for pictorial work but also creates sculptures, notably maquettes for habitable sculptures and a series entitled Spectrorames, in which colours were “spatialized” by way of boards that viewers were free to rearrange to create new configurations.
