HARRINGTON, Tara (1948)

Tara Harrington arrived in Canada in 1971, studying anthropology at McGill University (1971-1974) and ceramics at the Cégep du Vieux Montréal (1981-1984) before completing a BEd at Concordia University (1986). Her ceramic sculptures are a form of social commentary on the status of women, each of her works focusing on a difficult “moment” in a woman’s life: a husband walking out of a marriage, the discovery of a spouse’s young mistress, etc.
