Self-described as a self-taught artist, Claudie Gagnon brings together everyday items to create whimsical, theatrical installations, often choosing themes inspired by history and popular culture. She participated in Le Ludique (“playfulness”), an exhibition first presented in 2001 at the Musée national des beaux-arts du Québec, and Métissages (“cross-breeding”) at the Musée de la civilisation de Québec in 2000. In 2009, she held an exhibition at the Musée d’art de Joliette entitled Temps de glace (Time of Ice). Her work has been shown in Quebec, Canada, France, Italy, China and Mexico.
