GADBOIS, Denyse (1921-2013)

Denyse Gadbois studied under Goodridge Roberts at the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts’ School of Art (1944) before attending the Académie Julian in Paris. Though best known as a painter, she was also a teacher, muralist and sculptor. She received an award at the 1945 Concours artistique de la Province de Québec, and her work has notably been exhibited at the Riverside Museum in New York, McGill University’s Royal Victoria College and Eaton’s Fine Arts Galleries in Toronto.
