Serge Fisette holds a BA and an MA in art history and was the editor-in-chief of ESPACE magazine from 1987 to 2013. He has also served as an exhibition commissioner and authored publications on sculpture. In his own work, he favours the technique of assemblage, bringing together once disparate elements and instilling them with a new meaning and dynamic. This approach was demonstrated in the exhibitions Un théâtre d’objets (“a theatre of objects”), held at the Maison de la Culture Rosemont-La Petite-Patrie, and Abécédaire en forme de mère (“the ABCs of motherhood”) at the Joyce Yahouda Gallery; the latter featured twenty-six wall installations made in drawers. In 2013, Fisette participated in an exhibition entitled Anagramme d’une chaise (“anagram of a chair”) at the Maison de la culture du Plateau Mont-Royal.
