Both a teacher and an artist, Danielle-Anne Fillion holds an Honours BFA in visual arts from Université Laval (1983) and a college diploma (DEC) in visual arts. From 1982 to 1985, she was an active member of La Chambre Blanche, an artist-run centre in Quebec City. She has exhibited her work in numerous galleries, including Espace Illimité in Pointe-au-Pic (1984), Powerhouse in Montreal (1985) and L’Œil de Poisson in Quebec City (1990). Her delicate, refined sculptures are crafted using a minimalist touch; certain works consist of branches connected to painted wooden ends, some of which extend the lines of the boughs as others form repeated arches. She also creates collages, ritual books and artist’s books.
