BUSBY, Liliane (1946)

Liliane Busby’s sculptures and installations bring together diverse elements tinged with geological and archaeological references. The artist presents them transformed, juxtaposed or simply as they are, emphasizing their layers of meaning. Encouraging silence and contemplation, these fragments give viewers an indication of the exchange that happens between the artist and the materials with which she communicates. Busby drives to the very core of objects and matter in order to grasp, then bring to light, the essence and history inscribed there, thus keeping the past alive.
