AUBIN, Ernest (ou J.-B.-Ernest) (1892-1963)

Ernest Aubin was a landscape artist, sculptor, designer, illustrator, printmaker and photographer. He studied at the Monument-National, the school of the Art Association and at the École des beaux-arts de Montréal with Laliberté. From 1926 onward, he exhibited with the painters of Montée Saint-Michel. Aubin shared a studio on Notre Dame Street called L’Arche. His sculptures include a statue entitled Retour des champs.
