ALARY, Zénon (1894-1974)

Zénon Alary studied at the École du meuble, where he met Elzéar Soucy and Laliberté. He was influenced by Médard Bourgault and the so-called school of Saint-Jean-Port-Joli. The Musée national des beaux-arts du Québec houses some of his work while more than 250 of his sculptures, inspired by the wildlife and the Quebec landscape, are displayed at the Musée Zénon Alary in Sainte-Adèle.
